How to Read Your Lanae Order and Organize Your Cabinet Boxes
Your Lanae cabinets have arrived and you are looking at a stack of boxes. Before you start assembling anything, taking 15 minutes to understand your order and sort your boxes correctly will save you hours of confusion later. This guide explains exactly how to read your order confirmation and match every box to the right cabinet.
How Lanae SKUs Are Structured
Each item in your Lanae order has a SKU that tells you everything you need to know about what is in each box. Here is how to read it.
The format looks like this:
SKU: [Bundle Item] : [Box 1] + [Box 2]
Breaking that down:
- The Bundle Item is the first set of letters and numbers after "SKU" but before the colon. This is the name of the complete cabinet you ordered, for example B30 for a 30-inch base cabinet.
- After the colon are the individual box SKUs that together make up that cabinet. Each box is separated by a plus sign (+).
- C stands for Carcass, which is the box containing the cabinet box itself, sides, top, bottom, and back.
- F stands for Front, which is the box containing the door or drawer fronts.
Example: SKU: B30 : C-B30 + F-B30
This tells you that your 30-inch base cabinet arrives in two boxes: one carcass box (C-B30) and one front box (F-B30). Both boxes need to be opened and combined to assemble the complete cabinet.
Some larger or more complex cabinets may have three or more boxes. The plus signs always separate each individual box, so count the plus signs to know how many boxes belong to one cabinet.
Not every cabinet ships in multiple boxes. Some items, like glass door cabinets and spice racks, arrive as a single complete unit. If a SKU has no colon and no plus sign, the entire cabinet is in that one box. One box, one complete cabinet.
Step 1: Find Your Order Confirmation
Pull up your Lanae order confirmation email or print it before you start sorting. This is your master reference for everything that was ordered. Each line item will show the bundle item SKU and the individual box SKUs that build it.
If you are missing a box or a SKU does not match what is in front of you, contact Lanae's support team before you start assembling. It is much easier to resolve any discrepancy now than after boxes have been opened and contents mixed together.

Step 2: Group Boxes by Individual Cabinet Unit Before Opening Anything
Before opening a single box, sort all of your boxes into groups where each group represents one complete cabinet. Every box in that group belongs to that single unit and nothing else.
Most Lanae boxes have the SKU printed on the outside. Lay all boxes flat and read the SKU label on each one. Group boxes that share the same bundle item together. For example, if you ordered two B30 base cabinets, each one gets its own stack: one stack is C-B30 + F-B30 for the first unit, and a separate stack is C-B30 + F-B30 for the second unit. Do not combine them into one pile just because they are the same cabinet type. Each physical cabinet you ordered should have its own dedicated group.
Think of it this way: one stack per cabinet, regardless of how many of the same cabinet you ordered. When you sit down to assemble, you pick up one stack, build it completely, set it aside, then move to the next stack.
This step prevents the most common assembly frustration: mixing up parts from two different cabinets and not knowing which piece belongs where.
Step 3: Check Quantities Against Your Order
Once boxes are grouped, count each group and make sure the number of boxes matches the number of boxes listed in your SKU. If your SKU shows two boxes (C + F) but you only have one box in that group, something may be missing. Note any discrepancies before you open anything and contact Lanae if something does not add up.
Step 4: Set Up Your Assembly Area
With boxes sorted by cabinet, designate a clean, flat assembly area. A garage floor, basement, or any hard flat surface works well. Open and assemble one cabinet at a time, fully completing it before moving to the next. This keeps parts from getting mixed between cabinets.

Step 5: Inspect Each Box as You Open It
As you open each box, do a quick inspection before assembly. Look for any pieces that may have been damaged during shipping. If you find damage, photograph it, note the SKU nunber on the box and contact Lanae's support team right away.
